Astara Deserves a Chance

Sweet Astara was just a puppy on the euthanasia list at Sacramento County Bradshaw Shelter. We didn’t know much about her past — only that she had multiple injuries and needed urgent help.

She was diagnosed with:

• A large, painful mass in her gum/mouth area
• A deformed left ear
• A hind leg joint much shorter than the other, making it hard to walk

Initial X-rays suggested the mass might be cancer, and amputation was recommended for her leg. At the time, she couldn’t put weight on it. But now, three months later, Astara is running and playing — and we need new imaging to understand her current condition.

To move forward, she needs:

• A CT scan and biopsy of the oral mass
• New X-rays to reassess her leg
• Possibly surgery — total estimated cost: $7,000

Astara has been through so much in her short life, yet she remains full of hope. With your help, we can finally give her the medical care she needs — and the long, pain-free life she deserves.
